Actually they would not be that hard to sell and capital gains aren't everything in investing.
You really have a warped view as cheaper does not mean slum. My homes are renovated, have security screens and solar.
My properties 100% pay for themselves with a unemployed tenants and I have very low turnover. Over the life of the mortgage the property will cost me nothing so I will have collected a property for free now thats nice
