    @TheSpaniard ...I think you are missing my point. That being that the economy is toast no matter which course we take.

    Trying to just keep the economy going while the virus rages in the background (very quickly becoming the foreground), leads to economic destruction anyway.

    Why not try and control the economic destruction and the death rate? This appears to be what EVERY country ends up deciding they must do anyway.

    The PMs own words "Every Australian matters", tells you which way they are going, so debate about 'letting it rip' is moot anyway.
    Going back a month to 6 weeks ago, it was all about keeping the economy going, yet country after country has enacted a type of lockdown when the infection numbers became too high to ignore.
