No matter what you say, the consumer decides

Yes that is true but Govt regulation around climate change will have a big influence on what the consumer is able to buy. In parts of the World where a cleaner environment matters, increasing market share is saying EV's is the direction things are heading, at the moment all car sales are taking a beating but when that turns around market increasing share is the key.

Australia as an importer of vehicles, not a manufacturer, will have little say in what we are driving in the future, that will be dictated by the major manufactures with China leading the charge and Europe close behind.

Future generations, and they will be the dictator of change, will look at the internal combustion engine in museums and special events, much like we look at the steam engine now. The drive towards more efficiency never stops, the combustion engine is inefficient and polluting, it has only survived because there hasn't been an affordable and practical replacement . That's about to change, it won't happen overnight for various reasons, but it will happen....
