Yes I would agree but that's changed and now China is not just a threat to our national security by expanding it's influence but is on a war footing by feeding the plague it unleashed on the world.
It's a bit like England exporting to Germany in 1940. It didn't happen and for a good reason.
It's bad enough that the CCP is responsible for so many atrocities to it's own subjects but trying to do that to the rest of the world is another story.
