Re "
she relies on the words of two Jewish professors who supposedly translated previously untranslated speeches by the Lubavitcher Rebbe. their work has been praised by Chomsky and Said."
At the end of this post is the profile of the professors who translated Rabbi Schneerson's speeches to English. In so doing they revealed the following thoughts that Schneerson had on non Jews..
The entire creation [of a non- Jew] exists only for the sake of the Jews.
The body of a Jewish embryo is on a higher level than is the body of a non-Jew
There's plenty more comments much worse than the above contained in Schneerson's speeches. You're arguing that the translation is wrong because 2 other people (Chomsky and Said) praised the professors' work, and you don't like Chomsky and Said.
This is the false logic that allows that, if person A is bad, anyone person A praises must also be bad. Are you allowing that if someone bad were to praise you, all that you've ever done becomes invalid? It's a ridiculous argument.
Anyway, Rabbi Schneerson's movement was receiving over $100 million a year in contributions back in 1990, and you want me to believe that such a well endowed movement would not legally challenge a false translation when that translation is so damning. There has been no such legal challenge (they don't want to draw attention to it) nor has there been any corrections. I mean we are not talking about the odd word here, the translation stands, no one contests it.
Re "
the first time l came across this was in an article by Alison Weir in 2014/15."
Finally, I'm not sure what you mean here. You have only researched this issue for at most 3 or 4 hours, so let's be clear
you didn't " come across" this for the "first time" in 2014/15, that's very misleading if that is what you're trying to tell me. You've done a Google search, found 1 article, seen a couple of names you don't like and dismissed the evidence of 2 perfectly credible professors; that's all you've done. You certainly didn't know about this in 2014/15, please don't pretend otherwise.
Anyway, here are the professors ..
