So why does it matter whether VAH has 90% foreign ownership?
QAN has 36% foreign ownership but no one ever mentions that.
The foreign ownership % is completely irrelevant to the situation at hand.
With your logic the government shouldn't be paying peoples wages either, just let them lose their jobs & their homes. That's free market.
And why bother interfering when overseas companies buy out Australian companies?
That's the free market.
I don't think you'll find that VAH has bought any of it's own shares, again completely irrelevant.
So while the US is giving $50bn USD of support to it's multiple domestic airlines to ensure their survival, maintain competion & ensure the efficient movement of people & goods you're happy for Australia to have a monopoly that inhibits the recovery, limits capacity & massively drives up prices?
I think the case for this government to not interfere in the markets has well & truly bolted.
