    I read an article on Bllonberg (from another post just now). One reason for the BDI slump, in addition to the obvious is that the banks are not guaranteeing


    " The Baltic Dry Index, a measure of seaborne freight costs, fell 11 percent to a five-year low today for a 50 percent decline this month. Pacific Basin Shipping Ltd., Hong Kong's biggest dry- bulk carrier, said demand for moving coal and other raw materials will fall because banks are guaranteeing fewer loads...."
