Re 'accepted higher casualty rate': one thing I don't think I've mentioned is that our statistical institute (Statistiska centralbyrån) released numbers re daily deaths. Looking at the average number of daily deaths (2015-2019) and comparing to 2020 (Feb through March), there is only a relatively minor uptick in late March...
Take home message: many passing away were very ill already, and may have passed away during this period regardless of covid.. There has been more deaths in early April, but perhaps this will lead to an overall reduced mortality rate in H2 2020.. (?)
