Yes, I would use such a platform again, while knowing the risks of market downturns, and thus keeping my LVR low.
How is this different to having a loan on a house? In some parts of Perth house prices rose 100% in 18 months, and have now decreased by 50%. Do the maths if you borrowed 80% at the peak. The only difference is that you don't get margin called on a house but if you get divorced, or closed out for some other reason, the situation is similar.
I mean no malice to you personally but it would seem that there are some gaps in your understanding of the situation. ANZ is complicit in this, and the reason they got into it in the first place was to make more money than their competitors. Blame capitalism if you want, but not the bulk of Opes clients.
