From the New York Times article, lets look at the Nine coronavirus patients at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York who have received the Mesoblast treatment on an emergency basis, and doctors there said the initial response was promising. Six patients were removed from ventilation and others were being weaned off or had remained stable — a welcome development when most patients who need ventilator support do not survive.

SI, knows IMO, that once initial efficacy is demonstrated the FDA will approve for wider use immediately due to unprecedented events, however, he also understands the need to tie a big red bow around the results in the form of formal trial and report, to ensure other Governments and organisations understand the science and results therefore validating our successful treatment of final stage ARDS due to Corona Virus. This is a formality IMO. As SI has been quoted, "Corona is not going away" and as we have all heard on the news feeds that victims have contracted the virus more than once.

Based on FDA approving for wider use, IMO, you will see other jurisdictions adopt very quickly indeed. I see a lot more announcements flowing in the very short term.

As for all these negative nancies banging on about cost of our MSC's I've got 2 points to make,

1) What is the economic cost to governments and countries if the lockdown precautions continue in the face of this unprecedented pandemic?Answer: A whole lot bloody more than if those governments understood that there is a treatment for the final potentially fatal stage of COVID-19, ARDS. The cost of Meso MSC's is a piddly insignificant compared to the economic loss of these lockdowns to flatten the curve.

2) IMO when Remestemcel-L demonstrates efficacy, the worldwide demand for our MSC's will be significantly ramped up by our manufacturing partner Lonza, driving down cost even further as we scale for mass production using both Proprietary xeno-free technologies that will increase yields and Next generation processes using 3D bioreactors to meet this growth demand.

What I take comfort in, is that alternate world strategies other than full lock-downs and significant economic impacts can be put in place once our effective treatment for final stage ARDS due to Corona Virus has been accepted both informally and formally through the trial process bringing humanity back into a controlled state.
