I like excel for working on large data sets offline, but google sheets for pretty well anything else. Has some pretty cool functions, but my favourite that might interest others here is the googlefinance function, here's a list of what it can do;

I'm not overly familiar with Microsoft's cloud services, or excel online, so can't really compare to that.
