If I was wanting to takeover LNG and the market was in a mess, I would probably withdraw my offer and go into the market and start buying stock at a heavily reduced price and save myself millions of dollars.
I was not expecting them to withdraw their offer hence the reason I bought more the other day but from a logical point of view it makes sense that they would go down this path.
For the past couple of months management have been sitting on their collective backsides thinking this takeover was going to happen . Did they think that perhaps it might not, andperhaps try to make arrangements to get some funding in place to cover themselves just in case.
Once again management appear to have been caught with their pants down. It's not the first time this has happened.
They got this false sense of security with this takeover hanging around that they might have taken their eyes off the ball and now find themselves in a sticky situation.
Are we surprised. Not really.
Nothing surprises me any more.
