I'm taking a look into it, but due to some meetings throughout today, it might be later tonight before I can get back to you.
From a depreciation management perspective, Telstra have had trouble in dealing with the issue of capitalised software (now sitting at upwards of $1.0B on the Balance Sheet). Stewart over at the NAB has already taking the opportunity of declaring capitalised software as a drag on the Bank and is moving to write it off. So, query Telstra?
The carrying value of the cable network is and remains an issue.
The depreciated value of the copper network is close to fully allowed for and hence the continuing marginal cost of the copper ends is actually nearer to zero.
The PCCW and Reach operations are and remain an issue.
Similarly, the goodwill valuations accorded to some of Telstra's "Pretty" acquisitive plays.
But, I should have more to discuss, tonight.
