Hope Macquarie doesn't invest in Virgin. They could lend funds secured over physical assets such as planes (if Virgin owns these and is not just leasing them). Fin Review was saying today that Virgin had a $5 billion debt before the crisis struck and that it was seeking a loan more than twice its market capitalisation. (Market cap when Virgin went into trading halt was $726 million).
Maybe wait until Virgin goes into voluntary administration or liquidation then buy whatever assets it has at a far reduced price. Airline assets could include flight slots.
Macquarie would have other more viable companies approaching it seeking funds/private equity investment. It would be spoiled for choice.
A very wealthy investor/accountant (a friend's father) once said I never invest in anything that eats, sh**s, floats or flies.
