Being at the R's end of the world is good in some ways. I'm not talking about global positioning, I'm talking about fertile lands, favourable climate to agriculture, lots of space, wildlife.
China are getting massively strong because they have a political agenda that sees into the future and is aimed at increasing the prosperity and the strength of the country at all costs. On our side we have short sighted, greedy little men who just want to do a stint and get out with a huge pension. This is why I'm saying holding politicians to account needs to be the first step.
China certainly do have an edge with the slave labour army and total disregard for any living beings, but it's not the type of arrangement I'd be comfortable living under. I'd agree with you that it's not possible for us to change with the current state of our politics and our people.
Iron ore and coal. And Nickel, Aluminium, Silver, Gold, Uranium, Gas, Oil, Diamonds, Opal, Silica, Zinc, Rare Earths, Lithium. Did your big brain forget about those?
Yep, our education system is poor, still doesn't stop the universities from being full to the brim of "Pintohoo" lookalikes under normal circumstances.
Gee whiz the Chinese must be doing a great job at R & D. It's just a shame that they do it in all of the countries that aren't China and then steal the technology.
