It's not our "low on brains", it's our low on numbers! China has roughly 50 people to every one of ours. That means that they have roughly 50 scientists, PHD's, workers and consumers to every one of ours. Their internal demand is huge, therefore they don't need to export to grow, where we have to export to survive. What happened to our car industry? The aussie dollar went up and our car industry went broke. Before that, when the dollar was 50c in the dollar, we were making heaps, but suddenly we were to expensive to export our cars and went broke.
Agree that education ( as a business and to educate our people) is essential and can lead to high tech industries.
