So are you saying that China played some vital part in the emergence of covid? Yes the virus originated, apparently, in Wuhan wet market, but it could have developed such mutation in any other part of the world.

Viruses are constantly mutating. Its an important part of the life cycle of viruses. The Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) virus and The Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) are both coronaviruses as is the "common cold" https://www.healthline.com/health/coronavirus-types#types. In Australia we have another virus, Lyssavirus, which passes from fruit bats to humans.

The fact that this form of coronavirus originated in China is coincidental and so its inappropriate to blame China.

The Australian response to covid has been an excellent example of good management. The Chinese response, given the difficulties of clearly identifying the new strain, was also excellent and resulted in a rapid prevention of the virus killing millions instead of merely thousands. The US response has clearly been extremely deficient and is resulting in a massive explosion of infections. The latest revolt led by Trump against sensible restrictions to control the virus is a prime example of how not to respond to such a severe virulent epidemic.

If any single factor is to blame for the spread of the virus it is the delay of nations to curtail international travel early.

This is a global problem. Its not the fault of China.

Now how about we get back to the topic of this thread without the racist ignorance of blame.

    Scott.
