Here's an example of how dumb Australia's officials think we are. Victoria's chief health officer, Brett Sutton, today.
"It would have peaked at 650 deaths per day, so not dissimilar to what’s being seen across Europe in a number of countries ... You can see that Victoria has taken a different trajectory. We did, along with all the states and territories of Australia, take an early robust measure with the physical distancing restrictions in place."
So Victoria, with one tenth the population of the UK would have seen the same number of deaths? (the UK is following a similar lock down). No European country, with or without a lockdown, has seen the death rates Sutton is talking about. This misinformation is supposed to justify Victoria's idiotic controls. WA and SA without such restrictions, have far, far, fewer deaths.
Government lockdowns have practically no effect.
Australia, by being an island and stopping international arrivals, has put off the inevitable.
