@smart spider, appreciate your contributions and others on this thread, one of the best I've seen on h.c. Made the same mistake in misunderstanding this product and booked a $17k loss this morning.

I did significant research over the weekend and concluded there is no good news for oil for the foreseeable future on either the demand or supply side (besides maybe wide spread shale bankruptcies). In the meantime, the negative roll yield can't be ignored.
