I don't have an issue with chartists as they live and die on their ability (less dramaticaly come and go).
In addition they add liquidity. (I guess like shorter although that comment may touch a raw nerve).

I'm basically a FA but I certainly look at charts. Whether all market information is captured in it. Is a point of debate especially in the small cap space. I actually think in that space it's weak form market efficiency. The problem being the existence of inside traders. That element could well favour chartists.
