Principles guide accurate, fair and balanced outcomes.

There is nothing wrong with an independent, properly certified organisation writing an independent non biased, non vested interest report. A report that provides perspectives from ALL parties who make a contribution and most importantly the entity that is the focus of the report.

What you are suggesting can happen, as did in this instance, is a contradiction of a foundation stone of our democracy. That is, a separation of the power of those who gather create laws, gather evidence, prosecute suspects and judge outcomes. This framework is based on the principles of fact based, fair, balanced and equitable outcomes - not all the time, but a significant percentage for society to have confidence and trust in these institutions to provide social stability - the objective!

The 'report' creator has abided by their law and contrary to what was agreed to with ASIC, gathered untested evidence and prosecuted without interviewing the suspect, created a proxy environment of judgement by releasing the report into the public domain. This is not a fair and equitable process.

Could there be issues contained within the report that are accurate? Sure, however, this report has not abided by and been scrutinised by well thought out principles, institutional framework and process, and therefore is unlikely to lead to a fair and equtiable outcome where all are given equal opportuity to participate in the process.

Its ironic you use the catholic church as you model of comparison for what shareholders are posting. What has happened with the creation and release of the report fits the church historical MO perfectly. Witch burning at its best!
