1st topic - trading: I have reconciled myself to the fact that anybody trading - like me - using the services of a broker service with a 20min delay is not really able to make any serious moves where making a trading decision based on the price is close to opens and closes is going to be able to get a good trade price. I will be competing with people with a serious advantage over me. I do not even see the same thing they see. Is this an unfair advantage? That is the big question. The marketplace determines what level of advantage I can get simply based on how much I can spend getting it. If I can spend up big getting the best and fastest access then I will do better than I can now. But I cannot. This mode is my price level access that allows me to buy stocks to hold for longer term, not for spot trading. I have to take and accept what I can get and cut my coat according to my cloth. Is that fair? Capitalism says it is. Capitalism is, by definition, NOT FAIR. Who am I to disagree. Even if I am not at heart a capitalist. You pays your money, you takes your chance. Success is not, and cannot, always measured by being number one, nor even by being successful!

2nd topic - patents: You can read the patent status by looking up all the lodged patent applications. They are available to peruse. Read the tech info from the company. All you need to do is understand what you read. If you do not, your only alternative is to trust someone who does for their opinion. If you cannot understand what this company is doing then it may not be the ideal investment for you. DYOR.

3rd topic - Fred and AKP: It strikes me that the Bart family have a lot of skin in AKP. They want it to fly. No question. They want to make a profit from it, either by seeing it grow into a major player in the markets it can play in, or by selling it for an obscene profit to someone else who does. Either way the small investors who are along for the ride have a lot to thank Fred for. If it crashes and burns it is largely their money that will light up the skies. I believe that if it is in Fred's power to make it happen, it will fly.

I believe we will all know fairly soon whether the take off is "imminent" or will take a bit longer. My bets are placed. GLTAH!
