I agree that certain things which to one person seem small can to another be very important so perhaps in considering these things other things should be put on the table for consideration:

1. I am old but was taught that the moderator of an event would normally set the tone for how you should dress. In this case the moderator was dressed in casual clothing. The CEO was presenting from home after dinner.

2. During his presentation the CEO advised that he had put together the presentation himself and that he was working from home due to the Covid-19 lock down. So definitely no secretarial support. Some would say this is no excuse. I have nothing to gauge the quality of his work upon in these circumstances as our known competitors such as Nividia, Microsoft, Google and the like do not expect their CEO's to work in this fashion. Has anyone seen the quality of the work of Mike Davies in such circumstances.

3. Time zones and fatigue: The CEO was presenting at 12.30pm EST Australia which is 7.30pm where he was located in the USA.
It was 11.30am in Tokyo, 11.30am in Seoul, 4.30am in Berlin, 6.30am in Paris, 12.30pm in Shanghai and 10.30pm in Detroit.
Of course it might not be true but the CEO commented that he is in constant telephone contact with the proposed or hoped for customers and as can be seen these customers if they exist are evenly spread around the 24 hours of the day. Then we also have our workforce spread across six countries ie USA, France, Australia, India and Japan/Taiwan. Some health professionals recommend 8 hours unbroken sleep for good health and to avoid fatigue. He may well be fatigued but is that a matter for criticism?
