I think it is more than coincidence and luck simco. I think there may be a tendency for people to tend to vote Liberal more in the boom times and Labor more in the bust times or at least at a time when the boom is souring.
Certainly times were getting harder for many when Rudd replaced Howard last year. The so called 11 year boom was over for most and now Rudd will have to deal with the natural bust that was coming and is now because of global events a lot worse than it might have been.
Now simco tell us how things would still be booming today if Howard had won the last election ????
