It is true that there are many other attractive stocks you can buy now. The big banks have dropped significantly. Airlines and travel agents are cheap. Oil companies have crashed. Toll operators are a bargain. Why Telstra?
Imo, Telstra is not for everyone.
I prefer Telstra for the following reasons: 1) steady earnings under current environment 2) likely to continue to pay dividend 3) great potential to acquire great businesses with strong balance sheet 4) provide services that are in demand (work and study from home) 5) could be a tech company 6) potential winner in 5G
In short, investors have choices. You do not need to invest in Telstra if you believe it is not suitable for you. Plenty of bargains elsewhere.
