I was once in Meekatharra, a lovely little town if you like red sand, drunks and lots of violence.

The best thing the place had going for it was the road out of town.

I was walking to the local store having just arrived after a 10 hour car journey from Perth and one local asked me for a dollar.

"Ya gota dollar mate?"

I told him the last time I was up there the going rate was 2 bob. {20 cents} to which he replied;
