Well, I don't wish to sound moralistic and I'm not being moralistic, but there will be some who will suffer great grief because of their execution......and that is very sad for them.....mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters etc......... Personally, I don't believe in the death penalty, and as much as the temptation is substantial to want to waive my beliefs in instances like this, that temptation must be rejected.

That is one of the reasons why I am so much against the death penalty....Where do you draw the line? The simple answer is to say, "Well you definitely draw it in front of these blokes", but that doesn't answer the question.

And of course, my other belief is that, other than in pure self defence where it is unavoidable and/or unintentional and/or unpremeditated, no one has the right to take another persons life, whether it's an individual, or individuals forced to do it by a system that has been put in place by other individuals. OK, these guys committed a premeditated murder and no doubt, they have no place in society, but look at what they will now reduce society to.

No victims parents, siblings or offspring will gain any real closure or relief from the execution. That has been 'proven' time and time again in the US. Victims tend to think they will, and I don't blame them one bit, but when it's all said and done, the truth is, that it's not going to help them. I see one mother of a victim say just that last night on TV, as much as she's not against the execution....and once again, I don't blame her.

Would I want them executed if my child had been killed in the explosion. Of course I would.....but it wouldn't serve any real purpose and the temptation must be rejected.

I tend to think that the parents of Scott Rush and other parents of Bali 9 members would be dreading this execution. It's hard not to think that this would have a substantial impact on the chances of their children surviving.

I am absolutely disgusted at the fact that any government or jurisdiction can execute a boy like Rush, who given the opportunity to rehabilitate, would more than likely prove to be a very good, law abiding citizen, father etc.

But, that is the problem, where do you draw the line?......
