Soz guys, writing that post brought back a few memories, so I've just gone out and bought some beer to toast to my Parents memories.
50ftCat, the saga played out in remote East Gippsland... My old man figured that was the least likely place to receive fallout based on the rainfall characteristics, (rain shadow from Great dividing range) yet still had good water and arable land... The rainfall statistics meant we became semi-arid in teh early 80s droughts unfortunately.

Sure had Kulvinskas book, in fact we had a huge library, ranging from Mrs Beeton thru to Greys anatomy. All part of the survivalist plan... My pares actually wrote and had published a similarly titled book to Kulvinska's but that's probably enough info for now, lol
