You're right, if the results are fantastic the trial will end early and holders will be sitting pretty.
It's a huge gamble buying in at the moment though, if the results aren't great then the share price will plummet. I still don't quite understand everyone being so certain this is a sure thing based on the small compassionate use data.
Payoff is huge, risk is huge, it's a roll of the dice! Excitement is understandable, just know what you're getting into and DYOR, don't jump on a train just because of hype (like those bag holding $4.20 shares from a few days ago).
