Come on guys. Get over it. No-one can win at this. Either way, none of us on here have the ability to either influence the share price one way or the other or to change how the market works. We are deal takers not makers.
Yes, I think there are people whose business model is to try to influence the share price and lead the market where they want it so they can buy or sell at prices that are advantageous to them. Yes, they are gaming the system.
The point is we do not have to sell at the prices they set, nor buy at them, if we believe that is what is happening. I am a small investor and not ashamed of it. I am happy to pick up the crumbs from the big guys' table wherever I can, like a little mammal amongst feasting T-Rex's. I am quite prepared to play in their game, but I participate using my own rules. Nobody can force me to do otherwise if I do not put myself at more risk than I am happy with. Anyone who thinks the stock market is entirely rational is in for a hiding. It is more like a crowd of reef fish governed by moving shadows and instantly following what others seem to be doing.
Then ask yourself why anyone with the power to influence prices would possibly want to do so. How would they gain from it?
