why does share price godown everytime i sell, page-9

Hi Scrag,

Am a newbie trader and also use commsec.

The only time I used "at market" was for some nab shares. They didn't go through for at least 30 minutes, and by the time the trade went through, the buy price was 50 cents higher.

I was not very happy and have never used "at market" ever since. Any trade where I have nominated the buy/sell price has gone through promptly. Some crossed trades have taken a few hours to fill.

Have you heard the story of the punter that placed a bet via a friend?

Joe the punter couldn't get down to the TAB and asked his friend Jeff to put $20 on the horse Hustler.

On the way to the TAB, Joe had a trading brainwave. He placed the bet as usual, but had the following plan.

If the horse won, he would tell Joe that he didn't get to the TAB in time, give Joe back his $20 and pocket the winnings. If the horse lost, Joe wouldn't get any money anyway.

The other trading plan for Jeff was not to place any bet at all, if the horse lost, Jeff pockets the money, if the horse wins, Joe just tells Jeff he didn't make it to the TAB in time and returns the money.
