I had to do some homeware shopping today in Brisbane.
I have to say, people were out there in numbers, and with intent- and that intent was to buy up. We were in one homemaker centre, and also in a large Westfield shopping mall. There were numbers out, and they were not holding back on the purchases Much larger numbers on the roads too.
The only thing I can say is that if Queensland is a litmus test, the downturn will be short lived. But people need to remember the social distancing rules- they were definately not always evident, and not always enforced either. No need to take unnecessary risks.
Consumer confidence was pretty much on the up and up.
