You guys need to get your facts right. Climate change is happening and Chuck has a valid claim. The melting of the ice caps and freshwater entering the ocean is causing the Gulf Stream to slow down and will possibly shut it off. If this becomes the case it will cause the Northern Hemisphere to become colder and possibly freeze over. This is one climate change model which is gaining momentum and there is a lot of data starting to prove that this theory. For example:
Changes in salinity and currents in the mixing zone Changes in shell thickness of shellfish (due to less nutrients as there is less mixing of the cold water with the Gulf Stream)
The Gulf Stream flicking on and off and related mini ice ages were constantly happening in the past. Humans just are speeding this process up.
