I find this sort of thing kind of funny. A large part of our economy has come to a screeching halt. We all know that. Hence, current economic figures (the ones that are yet to be published) are bad. Yet so many run around looking and waiting for the published figures (the ones that tell us about yesterday) to see whether or not things were as bad yesterday as we know they were. If they do turn out to be as bad as what we all expect them to be - then they suggest it's time to panic.
Huh? News flash, publishing something about the past, doesn't make it worse than it actually was. In fact, it doesn't even tell us how bad it's going to be. There's a reason leading-economic-indicators (LEIs) do not include yesterdays GDP.
