Hey convoy63 yes not %100 sure but I think lithium carbonate mix with hydrochloric acid can change the composition into lithium chloride.
Then a ratio of lithium chloride 55% fused with 45% potassium chloride at high temperatures can produce amounts of lithium metal.
As for lithium hydroxide, it's chlorine gas infused with the hydroxide to form lithium chloride.
As for how much lithium is in solid state vs lithium ion batterys I can't find any info on unfortunately...
