He's raised some interesting points but perhaps has also missed the odd one. For mine I believe many view the pilgrimage to Gallipoli as a place to mourn lost youth, a place to admire courage many of our generation could not reproduce and a place to reflect on Australia's early participation in 'history'.
Keatings' view is meritous but I think it's a little condacending, perhaps moulded from the lofty heights he's traversed.
