Frankie I don't see eye to eye with atomou on the issue of capital punishment, in fact we hold very different views on the subject. But I will never believe he is an apologist for the Bali bombers, terrorists or anyone else who commits unspeakable crimes against others. As I understand it, atomou simply doesn't believe anyone has the right to take the life of another. I disagree with him as I think it needs to be an option for some particularly brutal crimes, but his view is as legitimate as any other.

It shouldn't be about vengeance but justice. Clinical execution.

We are happy to rid ourselves of cancers within our bodies. Free radicals kill us even though they are part of us. It's no different on a macroscopic level where we are all part of the universe and being attacked by our own. The radicals in Bali were a terror cell and should also be eliminated.

Just as we are scarred on various levels by ridding ourselves of cancer so too will we be by killing another but that doesn't mean its not the best course of action. I can live with it as I believe it's for the best but as with an operation to remove cancer from within, it should be approached without emotion and simply part of the process.

Obviously emotion for the survivors and family of the victims of the bombing will be high, but the justice itself should be clinical in the same manner in which a surgeon approaches his task.
