It's not on Blockchain. But 2.5 million pre registered people clearly DGAF.
That's the reality of blockchain at the moment. Not enough mass adoption because:
A) No major publisher has switched over
B) No groundbreaking games based on blockchain are out there
And in The Sandbox's case, C) Kiddies (main audience) will be the last to adopt it for the "it's on blockchain, true ownership" benefit.
There's nothing gameplay wise that a non blockchain game can't do as well or better. I mean it's really the other way around, blockchain games are the competitor and their POD is only "true ownership" of assets.
If you ask a gamer what they would choose - gameplay vs asset ownership, they would choose gameplay every time. Why? Because without gameplay, there is no audience, therefore without an audience "true ownership" is meaningless because who are you going to sell to?
F1 Delta Time already validates this. Less than a handful of players own all the best items in the game due to an error in the crate sale, but that aside, there are no players so they aren't able to sell them and don't even bother playing the game. No point having the fastest car when you are the only one in the race
