The entire issue of China restrictions on meat and barley from Australia is linked to the China- USA free trade agreement signed just 4 months ago. In that agreement Trump demanded an extra $40 billion of US farm produce including grains and beef be included. This is his heartland and much needed votes in 6 months time. China did not need the extra produce for feeding their people so the nett result is that imports from other countries needed to be reduced. And that is the entire crux of the matter........nothing to do with them threatening australia over covid.
You want to point blame in this...... then point your finger north east not due north. Trump is no friend of Australia unless he wants support for wars. His focus is winning the mid west states of Kansas, Dakota and Montana.
