Ironically, if the project looks like a delusional fantasy the SP will likely rise on the prospect of a takeover offer.

Not sure how the $2.50 holders will feel about the project being put back, but even if the 2mtpa operation was all signed and sealed I can't see that it would have had any impact on the SP.
