I keep reading and hearing that Obama is offering change - but what does this mean? A different face to the same old elitist rule? The same institutions are still there as are the people in the public service.

A true Change Agent for the US would be a President that encouraged and facilitated it's country's and people's ability to cease living beyond their means.

A true Change Agent would encourage saving and sell it to the people that much pain and change would need to happen.

A true Change Agent would also facilitate the country to start producing more and not simply consume.

A true Change Agent would understand that the solution is not global but only possible when you stop trying to be the super power of the world and global reserve currency. A true Change Agent would focus on their own backyard and appreciate that the seeds of change are there and not in some distant country.

A true Change Agent would get rid of the Federal Reserve Bank and allow the capitalism to thrive and die in a free market.

Obama indeed gives hope but surely the US and the world (for that matter) need more than hope for any real impact?

Hope is but a springboard for change but then the hard work and realities must be addressed. Some say Obama will attempt to spend his way out of this crisis - which will only lead to a bigger problem in the long run - not just for the US but for us all.

I wish him well as not only is his task a dificult one but also given people's inherent reluctance to change - that is indeed IF he indeed is offering TRUE change.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'.
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.
