Mostly fair enough, Fisho, however there seems to be a suggestion that Alan Shortall is not working hard, has not done so in the past and will not continue to do so in the future. Everything is relative. Those at the top always get more than those on other rungs of the ladder because they DO work harder, shoulder more responsibility and accept legal responsibility and accountability for their actions shoud things go pear-shaped.
As for things being handed out on a platter, it is worth correcting a previous post in so far as the shares and options issued in 2006 were part of a rights issue led by the CEO, who put in $1 million of his own money at a stage in the company's evolution where, had he not done so, things may well have gone pear-shaped. I believe that is called leading by example.
