China is not stupid. China wont hit Aussie exports where they have a considerable equity and/or dont have an alternative supplier.
The Trump China farm deal in January provides China with US barley, beef, wine and an array of farm commodities. The deal accounts
for over $50 billion of extra farm product imports to China; over 4 times our current total farm product .
The Chinese manage by plan while we prefer to manage by crisis! ( we call it following the market)
By the way, this Trump/China farm product deal cut Aussie farmers throats last January but they are only starting to bleed now!
( Quick import more BandAids....we've got a mob of bleeders here!)
Austrade should be speaking up here and explaining the what is happening to Aussie farmers rather than leaving it to politicians who dont know
whether they are Arthur or Martha. IMO, Austrade & our Ministers for Agriculture & Trade should have been in Washington and be fully briefed by the Trump/China Farm deal cutters. That's the least Australia could expect from a Friend....eh?
Instead, we have allowed China to put a political spin on our lock out of China's farm produce market. Just dont be surprised if the US exports
mega amounts of Barley and beef to China and then takes our excess off our hands for peanuts! ( game.set & match)
