Oakajee Port to go ahead without state support
November 07, 2008
It is reported that Oakajee Port & Rail has rejected suggestions that the AUD 1.6 billion port will not proceed without a federal of state government takeover or at least part of the project.
Oakajee Port & Rail said that its port and rail project has strong support from Murchison Metals, Mitsubishi and an international banking consortium.
Mr Colin Barnett Prime Minister of Western Australian earlier has asked the Australian government to jointly fund common use infrastructure worth AUD 650 million despite Oakajee Port & Rail previously indicating it will fund the entire project.
