from my experience anyone who is continually negative or critical is most likely projecting their own disappointment and experience onto others. The more they do it the more they get what they fear and fail to gain what they want which is what they most want - love, respect, recognition.
However the consequence is that even if you manage to agree occasionally it cannot be sustained.
however if you put aside tone and language I think we have to accept that people have different views. Maybe it’s useful to put aside the style and ask whether there are any insights that are useful.
