Tell them not to live in Footscray if the are studying in Bundoora. I assume that the cost of driving a car to and from Footscray to Bundoora to get to uni would be too much for a uni student! And the shortest way requires tolls!
But then again, La Trobe Uni has to be one of the worst publc transport connected unis in Melbourne, and they probably will need a car regardless.
