Just be careful of too much virtually uncontrolled migration.
Sitiveni Rabuka's first coup in Fiji was for that very reason. (I was over there shortly after) And I discussed it at length, with some of the Fijians I worked with.
The Fijians are fairly laid back people. They are happy to work enough to live and pay the bills, play or watch some Rugby on Saturdays, drink some Kava afterwards, and go to Church on Sunday.
The Indians are more driven, they push their kids to higher education and to achieve. Then they seek positions of power. So the (native) Fijians were being ruled by nationalised Indians, in their (native Fijians) own country. I had great sympathy for the Fijians, and could totally empathise with them.
This could happen to us too, in Australia. Of course, defining whom an Australian is, would be the trick. Basically, I would deem it to be a person of Anglo Celtic, European, or Aboriginal descent. However, I full accept that others may have a different opinion.
Regards....Marum.
