Ann: Business Update, page-15

It's hard to say these words in the same sentence, but apart from being suspended for two days, ANO had a pretty good week. I feel like a parent telling my friends that our Little Johnny was not allowed to attend school for two days this week because his school had some concerns that he might be showing up his class mates who don't all have his natural talents. I am thinking that while the local school is convenient, is it really the best option for the kid. As a parent, I am thinking that perhaps it's better for Johnny and the school that another school is found quickly before it turns ugly. Johnny has been known to throw a punch.

The latest update demonstrates that the board and management are actively looking for opportunities to broaden their manufacturing base and can potentially react very quickly to market opportunities as they arise. Whether it's manufacturing Hinokitiol or Zinc Gluconate, if there is an opportunity and a buck to be made, the team will chase it. ANO seems to have really gained in confidence to actively pursue these opportunities since their Brisbane operations commenced. Well done Lev, Geoff, Rade and Laurie.

When I started investing in this company, I think there was 5 products all with their own unique set of issues and problems. Incredible to think today that that there are over 100 products (including those in the pipeline). In a previous post, I mentioned their recent patent for an anti-acne cream that also had an SPF factor. With the announcement that they will be able to do their own manufacturing in up to 8000 tube runs, they will be able to hold on tight to their IP secrets and supply the product.

While the board have been a bit quiet on the solar battery concept, I noticed that they lodged a new patent in April called 'Method for making Cathode materials for lithium batteries and lithium ion battery incorporating same. Sometimes I think Johnny is doing a thesis on the side and not telling anybody!

As a long term holder and somebody who is likely to remain so, no matter where they may be enrolled in the future, it was great to see the next generation of the Mizikovsky family step up with the Dr ZinX concept. I wish them well, I am starting to get convinced that they are onto something! Like all investments, time will tell in the long run!
