I don't think it is risk free by any stretch of the imagination. If anything what just happened showed us how much risk GBG had that we ignored because GBG kept telling us everything was in writing and on track.
We are not privy to exactly what the deal was or the negotiations (if any- haha). We just don't know under what circumstances this deal was made, ie. was it a take it or leave it offer- do it our way or nothing- please bail us out- what? Was there pressure for GBG to undertake the "proposal"? We just don't know.
It has once again clearly shown me that whatever companies, brokers, analysts etc. claim, should be viewed simply as possibilies and never as being firm. I've seen this happen too many times before.
Looks to me very much like CCZ were briefed on the pricing.
