Did you watch that fight, davo77 ? Perhaps I did not state clearly enough. In that fight, Mohamed Ali was on the canvas most of the time and kicking his opponent with his leg, not allowing his opponent to get to him. that was my point. They were supposed to be facing each other standing up and fight.
Obviously the fight was a draw as neither could "floor" the other and land a knockout.
I don't know what you mean by judo being a ground orientated sport. With judo, you actually don't fight your opponent on the floor :-) You floor your opponent.
